What are Userback and Usersnap built for?

Userback

Userback

Userback is a feedback platform built around a widget, with a plan ladder that opens as a team grows: two seats free, then Team, Business and Business Plus adding AI insights, session replay, developer tools, a mobile SDK and support-desk integrations with Intercom and Zendesk. MCP connectors for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor arrive from the Team plan. On the free plan, feedback disappears from view after seven days.

Usersnap

Usersnap

Usersnap is built for product managers running feedback at scale. The widget is the front door; behind it are an opportunity board, AI sentiment and categorisation from Growth, a customer request portal and behavioural targeting, across five paid tiers from Starter to Enterprise. Error console logs start at Professional. Its pricing page carries the amounts as data attributes rather than as text, so a reader without JavaScript sees empty prices.

When should you choose Userback, and when Usersnap?

Userback

Choose Userback when

  • You are a team of two and want to start for nothing and stay there for a while. Userback's Free Forever carries two seats and two projects; Usersnap's free tier stops at the twentieth feedback item.
  • The entry price matters more than the entry feature set. Userback's Team at $29 a month billed annually is the cheaper first paid step, and it already includes MCP connectors.
  • You want replay and console logs eventually and would rather buy them on one product's ladder. Userback puts both on Business; Usersnap's pricing page lists console logs at Professional and does not state replay.
  • Your support team lives in Intercom or Zendesk and feedback should land there. Userback lists both; Usersnap's list of more than fifty integrations includes Zendesk.
Usersnap

Choose Usersnap when

  • Feedback arrives from many sources and needs a place to be weighed, not only fixed. Usersnap's opportunity board, request portal and behavioural targeting are the product; Userback does not attempt them.
  • You want AI over the whole feedback stream from a middle tier. Usersnap lists sentiment, categorisation and smart replies from Growth; Userback's AI insights begin at Business.
  • The people filing feedback are customers rather than colleagues, and you want them to see a request portal of their own.
  • Nothing may disappear. Usersnap's free items have no time limit; on Userback's free plan, feedback stops being visible after seven days.
Notarus

The third option

Where does Notarus fit?

Notarus is the answer when the thing gated behind both ladders is the thing you came for. Session replay, console logs, network requests and the environment arrive with every report on the free plan, which carries unlimited seats and 5 projects with no item cap. Every panel action is also an MCP tool as a shipping rule, so an agent can work the board a person works.

What it does not do is most of what makes these two platforms wide. There is no opportunity board, no customer request portal, no sentiment report, no Intercom or Zendesk integration and no mobile SDK. Feedback is taken on a live web page and pushed to seven trackers, Slack and Teams, and that is the whole product.

There is no ladder to climb for the evidence, and no tier to reach for the price: the pricing page states all three amounts, including the one with SAML.

What do buyers ask about Userback vs Usersnap?

Which is cheaper, Userback or Usersnap?

Userback, at the entry step. Its Team plan is $39 a month or $29 billed annually for five seats and five projects; Usersnap's Starter is $59 a month or $49 billed annually for five seats. The free plans are shaped differently: Userback's carries two seats and two projects with feedback visible for seven days, where Usersnap's ends at twenty feedback items with no time limit.

Does Usersnap have session replay?

Its pricing page does not state it. It lists video feedback and screen recording across plans and error console logs from the Professional tier, so the replay cell is marked pending rather than answered either way. Userback states session replay on its Business plan, $99 a month or $79 billed annually.

Do both have an MCP server?

Both list one. Userback's MCP connectors start on the Team plan and are described for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. Usersnap describes an MCP connector that gives an AI assistant context on feedback. Neither description says the assistant can act on a report rather than read it; a widget whose every panel action is an MCP tool is the third option.

Which one for a product manager?

Usersnap, if the job is deciding what to build. Its opportunity board, request portal and sentiment reports exist to weigh feedback, not only to file it. Userback is the better fit when the job is getting annotated reports with context to an engineer, and the price of the ladder to replay is acceptable.

Do Userback and Usersnap both offer a mobile SDK?

Both do, and both place it near the top of the ladder. Userback lists its mobile SDK on Business Plus, the step above Team and Business. Usersnap lists its mobile SDK on the Premium tier, not on Starter. Neither entry plan carries it, so a team collecting feedback from a native app pays for a higher tier on either product. Notarus offers no mobile SDK at all; it takes feedback on a live web page only.

Or try the third option on the free plan.

5 projects and unlimited seats, session replay included. No card.
